2024 State of the Village Dinner

On April 24, 2024 the Elburn Chamber of Commerce hosted its second annual State of the Village Dinner at the Elburn Lions Club.  The purpose of this event is to reinforce the vision and mission for Elburn and to provide a unique opportunity for business, community, and school district leaders to come together in support of our community.  Mayor Jeff Walter gave an engaging presentation that included Elburn facts, accomplishments from the previous year, budget and finances, key issues and challenges, future planning and for fun a bit of Elburn trivia for prizes.

Two New Membership Levels Added

In an exciting development aimed at broadening its support for the community, the Elburn Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the introduction of two new membership levels: “Retired Person” and “Individual Home-Based Business.” These new categories are designed to cater to the unique needs and contributions of retirees and home-based business owners, recognizing their vital roles in the local economy.

The “Retired Person” membership level is crafted specifically for retired individuals who remain active and engaged in the community. This membership offers numerous benefits, including access to networking events and social gatherings tailored to the interests and schedules of retirees. Members will also receive discounts on certain Chamber events, as well as opportunities to mentor younger professionals and share their wealth of experience.  “The introduction of this membership level acknowledges the significant impact retirees have on our community,” said Chamber President Penny Bergstrom. “Retirees bring a lifetime of experience, skills, and wisdom. We want to provide them with opportunities to stay connected, continue learning, and contribute to the vibrancy of our local economy.”

You can join the chamber at the Retired Person level here.

The “Individual Home-Based Business” membership is designed to support an entrepreneur who runs their business from their home. This membership provides access to a range of resources that are essential for the growth and success of small, home-based businesses. Benefits include listing in the Chamber’s business directory, promotional opportunities, and invitations to networking events.  “Home-based businesses are a growing segment of our economy,” noted Chamber Administrator Florence Jolly. “These entrepreneurs often face unique challenges, such as isolation and limited access to professional resources. Our new membership level aims to bridge these gaps by offering tailored support and resources to help them thrive.”

Both new membership levels reflect the Chamber’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive business environment. By recognizing the diverse needs of different community members, the Chamber aims to enhance engagement and collaboration across all sectors.
