Emerald Acres Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On Thursday, August 31, the Elburn Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the Grand Opening of Emerald Acres.  Located at $N250 IL-47, Emerald Acres is a social club, cocktail bar, and private events venue that is open to the public on Thursday nights for drinks and live music.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – Edward Jones

On Tuesday, August 15 the Elburn Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the relocation of Edward Jones, Elburn Branch. In attendance were Edward Jones Financial Advisors Bill Brauer, Daniel Murphy and Josh Beard and their Branch Office Administrators Jennifer Franck and Rhonda Gualdoni. Representing the Chamber of Commerce were Penny Bergstrom, President, Ben Gulino, Treasurer and Gary Johnston Jr, VP of Marketing. Representing the Village of Elburn were Jeff Walter, Village President and John Nevenhoven, Village Administrator.

CASA Kane County Ribbon Cutting

On Wednesday, July 19 CASA Kane County held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate their 35th anniversary and the Grand Re-Opening of their Grow a Healthy Child Garden.  The Elburn Chamber of Commerce joined with other local Chambers along with county, city and state elected officials and local judges to celebrate CASA Kane County’s 35 years of advocacy and service for the children in foster care. The Elburn Chamber of Commerce was represented by Bill Brauer, our Vice President of Committees.

3 Scholarships Awarded to Kaneland High Seniors

Congratulations to the Kaneland High School class of 2023! We would like to thank the Kaneland community for supporting the Elburn Chamber of Commerce. With your help, the Chamber gives back in many ways, including college scholarships. This year, the Chamber provided three scholarships to graduating students, including the Pat Hill Spirit Award, which Railside Citrus Insurance Agency sponsored again this year.

This years winners for 2023 were:

Makayla Barsotti – $1000 Elburn Chamber of Commerce Award
Lindsay Yost – $1000 Elburn Chamber of Commerce Award
Andres Alba – $1000 Pat Hill Spirit Award

New Flag for the Elburn Chamber

At our February 2nd meeting at the American Legion, Harley Veldhuizen, with Blackberry Township, gifted Penny Bergstrom, President of the Elburn Chamber, with our own American flag for Chamber meetings.

Our March Member Meeting and 2021 Awards Banquet was held at The Old Elburn Hall on March 3rd from Noon to 2pm.  The banquet featured a menu of appetizers, prime rib, an array of sides, and dessert.  Awards were presented to the 2021 Chamber Business of the Year and the 2021 Chamber Member of the Year.  In addition, recognition was given to 2021 Board Members and Committee Chairs.

Thank you to all who attended.  And a special thank you to  The Old Elburn Hall for hosting and catering this wonderful event!

Congrats to Obscurity Brewing and Craft Mead on being awarded the Chamber Business of the Year and  David Wennemar on being awarded the Chamber Member of the Year!

The Elburn Chamber of Commerce looks forward to celebrating your new business  or momentous business milestone with a formal ribbon cutting celebration!

Ribbon cutting celebrations are an opportunity to showcase your business and its success and bring the village officials and community alongside you as well for congratulations and support moving forward. As Elburn has continued to see expansive growth over the last several years, the following outline has been created to demonstrate how we will work with you to create the perfect event.

July 1st Meeting: Scholarships Awarded

Four Scholarships Awarded at the July 1st Member Meeting!

Thank you for your Elburn Chamber of Commerce Scholarship application and essays last year. As you may recall, we suspended the program last year when things were so uncertain but we are thrilled to be awarding the 2020 $1000 Kaneland School District Scholarship and the new annual $500 Pat Hill Community Service Award to a 2020 Kaneland student. The Pat Hill scholarships were donated by Dave Broz from Railside Citrus Insurance Agency and Lucas Goucher of Obscurity Brewing and Craft Mead.
